About Me
I’ve always believed that leadership is less about authority and more about authenticity – about using knowledge, compassion, and courage to make a lasting impact. That belief has guided me throughout my career, from leading national institutions to coaching women to rise into their own power.
With more than two decades of executive experience in leadership development, governance, and environmental management, I’ve had the privilege of serving South Africa in several key leadership roles – including Director General at both the Department of Water Affairs and the Department of Environmental Affairs, Chief Operating Officer at the Department of Environmental Affairs, and Municipal Manager at the Amathole District Municipality.
Since founding Zenande Leadership Consulting in 2019, I’ve focused on cultivating purpose-driven leadership that balances human development with environmental stewardship. My work is rooted in the belief that when we lead with clarity, authenticity, and heart, we create organizations – and societies – that thrive.

My journey has also taken me into spaces where leadership meets conservation and tourism, two causes close to my heart. I’ve had the honour of serving as Chairperson of both the South African National Parks Board and the South African Tourism Board, as well as a member of the South African National Biodiversity Institute. I currently serve on the Boards of South African Airways (SAA) and the Seriti Institute.
Academically, I hold a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Industrial Sociology from Rhodes University.
Today, as a Certified Executive and Women’s Coach, I’m passionate about helping women across Africa step into grounded, conscious, and transformative leadership – the kind that uplifts people, communities, and the planet.
